HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) welcomed a high-level delegation from Denmark headed by HE Esben Lunde Larsen, the Danish Minister for Environment & Food. The meeting discussed enhancing cooperation between DEWA and Danish companies in sustainability, energy efficiency, and retrofitting buildings.
The delegation included HE Merete Juhl, Danish Ambassador to the UAE, HE Morten Siem Lynge, Consul General of Denmark in Dubai, Jacob Nygård, Private Secretary to the Minister, Michael Hansen, Senior Commercial Advisor, Astrid Svitzer Nielsen, Head of Commercial Department and Regional Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa, and representatives from leading energy and water companies from Denmark.
The meeting was attended by Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence, Abdullah Obaidullah, Executive Vice President of Water & Civil, Dr Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, and Khawla Al Mehairi, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Government Communications at DEWA.
Al Tayer welcomed the delegation, and emphasised DEWA’s commitment to sharing expertise and best practices in sustainability and green economy with public and private organisations around the world. He noted the importance of promoting and expanding cooperation between DEWA and Danish companies in energy, water, and sustainability to achieve mutual benefit. During the meeting, Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s programmes, plans, and projects to achieve the vision of the wise leadership, and enhance the UAE’s global leadership.
The Danish minister commended DEWA’s efforts and its prominent role in enhancing the sustainable development of Dubai. He thanked Al Tayer for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to discuss collaboration opportunities and promote bilateral relations.
In February, DEWA organised workshops in collaboration with Danish companies, to review and exchange best practices and expertise and enhance investment opportunities in sustainability, electricity and water, building retrofits, and energy efficiency. The workshops were attended by several Danish officials.
